Putmayo Presents Israel
Israel, a CD produced by Putumayo World Music, puts together a delightful compilation of new Israeli music from a variety of artists. It is an excellent example of how the diversity of Israel’s residents, a country of immigrants from all over the world, can be reflected in their music, incorporating influences from just about every style including reggae, pop/rock, folk, jazz and African. The liner notes even include a Middle Eastern recipe, and a portion of CD profits go to an Israeli charity. Highly recommended, especially in those libraries with a section for world music.
